The Pre-School are revising their policy for Care in the Sun. On sunny days the sun’s rays can damage your child’s skin leading to illnesses in later life, and ESPS want to protect your child as much as possible. To do this, the Pre-School insist that all children have a named hat or legionnaire-style cap available and that you apply sunscreen to your child prior to coming to Pre-School. You can also help by talking to your child about the importance of staying safe in the sun. Whilst your child is at Pre-School UV levels will be checked before they play outside, water will be provided at all times, activities in the sun will be limited and children will be called into the shade every 10 minutes. Sunscreen will also be reapplied if necessary at parents request. If you do not wish your child to have sunscreen applied please inform your key person and ensure you provide your child with a long-sleeved top and hat with face and neck protection.
